1ACTournament: Roosevelt Sweepstakes | Round: 4 | Opponent: Brookings TW | Judge: Matt Kenyon Observation 1: Beautiful RageI speak but no one hears meI stand before you afraid to speak because you will cast judgment upon me. When I proposed the idea that women’s voices aren’t being heard, not only in debate but in the real world, my own friends laughed in my face. This is the place I turn to, to speak, but because men are too afraid to let go of their power, to release the choking hold they have over our voices, I am silenced. I repeat male authors in a male dominated activity and I refuse to let this happen anymore. I refuse to stand behind sickening idea that women owe something to men. I will no longer be silenced, and I will not shame me for believing that I deserve a safe space.1. Policy debate is inherently creates verbal aggression and sexual metaphors – isolating womanDhillon and Larson 6 2.
