The three pillars of white supremacy are slavery, genocide, and imperialism. All three reproduce systems of white supremacy that make the US empire appear to be legitimate, and create complimentary but often contradictory logics. These systems themselves are socialized into individuals at a young age, usually through the nuclear family, which is premised on heteropatriarchal notions of kinship. Heteropatriarchy is what ideologically legitimizes the nation-state; it is where hierarchy is naturalized.
